CSP SALIU ALIU ENLIGHTENS BORIPE CORPS MEMBERS ON PERSONAL SECURITY

Monday was an auspicious day for Boripe LGA corps members in the State of Osun, as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Iragbiji Area Office, CSP Saliu Aliu was all out to give corps members a lecture on security matters.
The enthusiastic corps members were thrilled at the visitation of the DPO subsequent upon his previous courtesy call to the Local Government Inspector, Mrs K. K. Salawu a week before.

CSP Aliu, in his characteristic fashion of humor and candor, gave the corps members a thrilling and exhilarating lecture about personal security. He enlightened them about the division of the Nigeria Police Force in the local government into Iragbiji and Iree Areas under the watch of two DPOs. As well, he intimated them on his background and experience as a police officer as a prelude to the lecture.

CSP Aliu hinted that security starts with oneself; watching out for the likely hazards in one's immediate environment and being overly cautious on a day-to-day basis.

He advised the corps members to avoid walking or moving around at night, and with questionable friends. He also enjoined them to develop harmonious relationship with their host community and to avoid flamboyant lifestyle that may put them in harms way.

Speaking further, the DPO was apt to include that travelling out of one's jurisdiction or the state should be with due permission from the State Co-ordinator of NYSC through the LGI.

Adding to the several tips about personal safety, he admonished the members to take advantage of their uniform, putting it on when travelling as it is their pride.

He brought the lecture to a close by giving the number of the charge room of the Iragbiji Area Office and his own personal number in cases of emergency; he promised that his
men will make it a point of duty to patrol their lodges in town to ensure their safety.

In her vote of thanks and remark, the LGI, Mrs K. K.   Salawu on behalf of the corps members appreciated the DPO for gracing the occasion and coming despite his tight schedule.
