STATE COORDINATOR STORMS IFE SOUTH, INTERACT WITH CORPS MEMBERS AND EMPLOYERS

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator,  Mr Ayodele Adegoke paid an unscheduled visit to one of the farthest local governments in the State,  Ife South local government on Tuesday.

According to him,  the visit was to see how corps members posted to the local government were faring and to ascertain that corps employers in the locality lived up to the expectations of the scheme with regards to corps welfare.

Adegoke also visited Good Will Secondary School,  Ifetedo where he interacted with corps members and the school authority. Complaints by corps members were promptly attended to by the State Coordinator who appealed to employers to treat corps members posted to them aright and threatened to  blacklist any employer that treats the NYSC members shabbily.

According to him, " the Director General, Brig. Gen. Shuiabu Ibrahim and the management of the scheme hold corps members very dear and frown greatly at any employer who maltreats them in anyway".
"these are our graduate children who deserve to be treated with the same level of respect with which members of staff are treated. They should be given even more regard as they are visitors from other states who came to serve the nation in the locality. Their sacrifice and selflessness should be commended by all and not taken for granted" he said.

Correspondingly, the state coordinator  visited other corps members in their various places of primary assignment,  interacted with them and further gave them cash gifts in appreciation of their selfless service in the community.

The zonal inspector, local government inspector and corps members were so elated and couldn't hide their joy  that the state coordinator could visit them regardless of the distance.

Thereafter, Adegoke took his visit a step further by paying a courtesy visit on the local government chairman, Hon. Adegbite Mufutau,  who received him warmly expressing his gratitude to the scheme for posting corps members to the local government to assist in the educational,  health and agricultural sector of the local government.

For according to him,  "their presence in the local government has really helped in improving the quality of life of our people. I commend NYSC for posting corps members not only to the urban centers but also to the rural areas, where their services are really needed and appreciated".
