Corps Member Sensitizes Government Officials, Nigerian Police Force, NYSC Officials and Fellow Corps members On The Importance Of Swimming Skills.








A serving Corps member from Olorunda Local Government Osogbo, Mr. Dare Akinrodoye  with state code, OS/19A/ 1418 has sensitized the public on the Importance of developing swimming skills.
The sensitization program which had the attendance of NYSC officials, Nigerian Police officers and corps members was aimed to improve fitness and advocate for importance of sporting activities in the society.
Speaking in an interview, the convener of the event, Mr. Dare  Akinrodoye disclosed that the sensitization programme was to empower youth on skills that can improve their growth physically and mentally.
According to him, "the sensitization program is important at this time as it will help to eliminate fear of water, otherwise known as 'Aquaphobia', prevent drowning and swim effortlessly for physiological and psychological growth.
Speaking earlier at the event, the NYSC Local Government Inspector, Olorunda Local Government, Mr. Stephen Dolapo revealed that swimming is a veritable life skills needed in emergency cases and must be learnt by everyone, especially the corps members.
Speaking further, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP. Folasade Odoro also acknowledged that the project is a welcome development in the force, emphasizing that it will help officers to keep fit and be at alert Everytime.
