'The Essence Of Carnival Is To Showcase Cultural Heritage ' - Adegoke
The State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke in his opening remarks at at the carnival of the 2019 Batch C stream II orientation course at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Saturday, described carnival as a way of showcasing the richness of our cultural heritage.
He therefore enjoined the corps members not to forget the essence of the carnival even as they have fun.
Adegoke declared the carnival open by dancing through the stands of platoon 1 to platoon 10 greeting and blessing them as other camp officials followed dancing beautifully to the DJ's mix.
The carnival was spiced with interesting dances and cultural display from the different platoons who showcased the Efik, Idoma, Urobo, Fulani, Igbo and other Culture. Platoon 9 came 1st with the highest points. Platoon 6 came 2nd with 154 points while Platoon 2 came 3rd with 150 points, Platoon 8 came 4th. Platoon Nine gladdened everyone's heart and won the dance competition with their well rehearsed exhibition of the Fulani dance and culture.
