Red Cross Sensitizes Students, Preaches The Importance Of The Group
The Red Cross Community Development Service (CDS) group from Osogbo Local Government Area has sensitized students on the importance of the club.
The group of corps members enlightened the students while paying courtesy visits to schools including Way To Success School and Divine International Schools, all located in the city of Osogbo, Osun State.
The president of the group, Mr. Emmanuel Ozigi while delivering his speeches disclosed that the group being founded since 1863 is committed to helping humanity by fighting for the right of the people, fighting against suicide, and rendering first aid treatment to save lives and promoting quick recovery.
He said “Red Cross is a voluntary group borne out of passion for humanity to render help to victims of accidents, and in terms of blood donation”
Meanwhile, the students were trained on the basic knowledge for a first aider while learning the guiding principles which include humanity, independence, impartiality, voluntary service, unity, universality, neutrality among others. They were further encouraged to develop the habit of altruism to people and their immediate communities.
