Over 7 Schools Trained On Design Thinking At Young Innovators Bootcamp
The Editorial community development service group of Osogbo and Olorunda local government area, as part of community service has carried out a two day Young Innovators Boot camp for secondary school students within Osogbo town on the 19th and 20th of September, 2019 at Osogbo Government High School.
The Young Innovators Boot camp which commenced on Thursday, 19th September, 2019, had over 7 secondary schools within osogbo in attendance with over 40 students as participants.
The students received training on volunteerism, purpose & passion, leadership, web development, sustainable development goals, and also engaged in design thinking sessions with an idea pitch competition set to hold on Saturday 28th, September, 2019. All the participants were actively involved in all the sessions.
Mr Iyanuoluwa Aliu, the project coordinator, in his welcoming remark encouraged the participants to take every session of the training very serious as it would launch them into a new course as change makers in our country, Nigeria.
The group Editor/President, Mr Bryan Waamah also appreciated the teachers who came with their students and encouraged participants to pay keen attention to every session of the program.
Speaking further was the Deputy Editor of the group, Miss Ofon Emmanuel, who challenged the participants that they must be solution providers if they intend to be dynamic change agents. She further stated that we must discover problems, not just talk about them, but think out solutions for the problems and thereby bring about change in their immediate community and the globe at large. The resource persons were awarded certificate of appreciation.
