BOI EXPOSE CORPS MEMBERS TO FINANCIAL PRIVILEGES

BOI EXPOSE CORPS MEMBERS TO FINANCIAL PRIVILEGES

Dr. Emmanuel Ojoowuro from the Bank of Industry spoke to  2019 batch B stream 2 corps members on how the BOI are financially supporting Corps members.

At the beginning of his lecture, he stated that the rate of unemployment in the country has recently gone up from 18% to 21%, therefore advising corps memebers that their certificates should be a means to an end but not an end its self.  He explained in the early minutes of his lecture that the major advantage of the BOI is that all their loans are interest free, urging corps members to take advantage of the opportunity.

Although the loans are interest free, Dr. Ojoowuro further explained to corps members that the Bank of Industry does not give grants due to the fact that it is a private body and there is a need to survive.  In view of this, he termed the bank's effort as a “public social responsibility”.

He ended his lecture by saying that the BOI is presently active in all 36 states of the Federation and emphasized that corps members will need the Skills Acquisition and Enterpreneurship Developement certificates to benefit from these privileges.
