DO NOT INVOKE STRANGE ILLNESSES ON YOURSELF BECAUSE OF RELOCATION -Taofeek Warns.
The Assistant Director, Deployment and Relocation, NYSC Osun State, Mr Lawal Toafeek, has warned the 2019 Batch B stream II corps members to be wary of lying in order to secure a relocation on health grounds.
According to Toafeek, some corps members who are medically fit obtain fake medical reports with strange illnesses in order to avoid serving in their State of deployment. This he said has serious consequences and should be avoided at all cost.
The warning was issued during the early morning lectures for the batch at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Friday 23rd August.
Toafeek, aside this, sensitised the corps members on the duties of the deployment and relocation branch, stating that corps members posting will be based on four consideration, namely; course of study, requests from employers, peculiar needs of the state of deployment and the overall national interest.
The Assistant Director further enlightened the members on the criteria for relocation, the key sectors of posting, acceptance and rejection.
He however added, " no corps member should induce his or her rejection as anyone who does so will be duly sanctioned inline with the NYSC byelaws". "inducing rejection is an act of indiscipline, do not do it" he added.
He concluded by advising the members to fill their certificate formats carefully as their certificate of national service will reflect whatever is written on their certificate formats. He further added the warning that no corps member should pay for any service as posting and relocation are done at no cost.
