Speaking at the event, which commenced on the 19th of August, 2019, Mr Okeoluwa Pelumi who doubled as a Corp member and facilitator gave a brief talk on the basics of public speaking. He noted that public speaking is a means to building self esteem and confidence regardless of a person's field.
Mr Pelumi Speaking further, highlighted the various kinds of temperaments and how the teenagers can be awesome personalities depending on which temperament they are. He also encouraged the students to be good writers and speakers who will not relent no matter the mistakes stressing that mistakes are there to make one a better public speaker and individual as a whole. He concluded by encouraging the students to celebrate their losses, embrace it, redefine it and make it their strength.
Also at the training, another Corp member and facilitator, Mr Waamah Bryan sensitized the students on creative writing. Mr Waamah noted that humans are a product of what we hear, write and see. Bryan added that creative writing is birthed by a wild imagination that brings out your uniqueness as a writer. He buttressed this by encouraging the teenagers to think outside the box in order to become good creative writers.
Mr Waamah Still speaking on creative writing, introduced and defined basic terms which helped the students relate better and interact during the session.
Meanwhile, Mr Isaac Okolo, a member of the project team implored the students to take the training seriously as it is designed to help reshape their mindsets and broaden their horizons. He also asked the students to pen down their individual expectations from the training in order to give them purpose, focus and direction.
Mr Okolo further noted that the project team will offer rewards to the best participants as this will be an incentive to encourage students who work hard in the course of the training.
