ADEGOKE VOWS TO DECAMP ANY TAILOR THAT VIOLATES NYSC RULES
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adewale Adegoke has vowed to decamp any tailor that violates the NYSC rules. He made this known while issuing out strict warning to the 2019 Batch B stream II corps members against defacing the NYSC uniform, vowing to decamp any tailor that aids the defacing of the uniform in the guise of shaping or trimming to size.
Adegoke who briefed the Batch on Wednesday 21st August, 2019 at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, stressed on the need for corps members to adhere by the rules guiding the regimented camp as the NYSC has the carrot and the stick system. According to him " NYSC rewards outstanding corps members right from the camp through to the end of the service year. The scheme also has sanctions of different degrees for erring corps members".
Correspondingly, Adegoke took the corps members down memory lane reminding them of the reasons behind the creation of the NYSC and the objectives and goals of the NYSC. According to him, the scheme has been able to achieve great landmarks in the areas of unity, integration and socioeconomic development of the nation. He further intimated the members on the importance of participating actively in the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC, namely: the orientation, primary assignment, secondary assignment and the winding up/passing out.
Entitlements of corps members during the service year were also adumbrated by the State Coordinator during the briefing. Corps members were enlightened on the various welfare packages put together by the scheme to make the service year a memorable one for them.
He therefore implored them to reciprocate the good gestures of the scheme by serving selflessly, diligently and faithfully. He called on them to shun behaviours capable of jeopardizing their peaceful cohabitation with other corps members, behaviours such as drunkenness, selfishness, intolerance to others, among others. He reminded them of the fact that smoking, cultism and dealing or the use of illegal drugs are totally prohibited and " anyone caught will be dealt with accordingly" he added.
In concluding, he encouraged the corps members to read the various publications given to them as these will serve to enlighten them more on the nitty-gritty of the service year as it is difficult to err on the part of caution.
The highlight of the event include the introduction of all heads of assignments and collaborating agencies on camp.
