The State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Osun State, Mr Samuel Egbeola has promised the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Adegoke Adewale to maintain a robust relationship with the scheme in the State.
He made the statement during a courtesy visit of the latter to his in Osogbo on Thursday, 25th July, 2019.
In his address, the State Commander, NDLEA who led his team of 7 key officials including the Assistant State Commander, Mrs. Justina Abadore, commended the efforts of the NYSC in shaping the future of the Nigerian graduate youths and promised to give the scheme top priority.
Speaking further, he urged NYSC to ensure that only interested and trained corps members are enlisted as members of the Drug free Community Development Service group in order to help propagate the importance of their work and help corps members to stay off hard drugs.
The State Coordinator, NYSC expressed his appreciation to the NDLEA and commended her staff who worked towards ensuring the success of the past orientation courses as he was rightly informed by his predecessor and also the just concluded orientation course which was a clear portrayal of the synergy that existed between the two organisations. He thereafter craved the indulgence of the command to furnish the scheme with contacts of NDLEA officers in the various local governments across the State so as to facilitate sensitization programmes for corps members at the local government levels.
