COMMISSIONER OF POLICE PLEDGES TO EXTEND SECURITY TO CORPS MEMBERS' LODGES
The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Abiodun Ige has made a promise to ensure the security and safety of corp members, even at their lodges during their service year. She gave the State Coordinator, Mr. Adewale Adegoke this assurance during his courtesy visit to the Police Headquarters in Osogbo, on Tuesday 23rd July, 2019.
"The police and the NYSC are partners in progress and as such, anything that affects the scheme affects us", says the Commissioner. "I am ready to assist the scheme in matters of security, therefore, whatever you require of us, feel free to let us know" she added.
"We would ensure to remind the DPOs to always dispatch Officers to visit the corpers' lodges during their patrols as the corps members are part of our responsibility which is to protect lives and properties", says the Commissioner.
The State Coordinator while interacting with the Commissioner, expressed his gratitude to the force for their prompt response to the distress calls of corps members as he had being rightly informed by his predecessor.
He further appreciated the Force on behalf of the Director General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Shuiabu Ibrahim, for always making available experienced officers for the maintenance of law and order during orientation programmes. Leveraging on this, he called for continuity and a stronger synergy between the scheme and the Force in the State.
The Commissioner also promised to do something about reducing the stress and formalities involved in making reports of missing items for corps members as requested by the State Coordinator.
