HEADS OF COMMITTEES TO BE REPLICATED IN EACH PLATOON- SAYS ATTAH
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Emmanuel Attah stated that each of the camp committees set up to make the administrative work of the orientation course smooth and hitch free will be replicated in each of the platoons.
He made this statement while briefing the 2019 Batch 'A' corps members deployed to the State at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede. Attah said this became necessary in order to run an all inclusive administration during the orientation course.
According to him, all the ten platoons will elect a corps head of sanitation, lectures, socials, publicity, security, kitchen, amongst others, in the platoon. These heads, according to him, will be saddled with the responsibility of ensuring maximum participation by corps members in their platoons in their areas of jurisdiction.
Aside this novel initiative, the State Coordinator further informed the corps members that a corps camp director will be chosen each day to work in synergy with the NYSC Camp Director, Alh. Abdullahi Adamu. The corps camp director will be fully empowered to act for the day under the supervision of Alh. Adamu.
This, Mr Attah posited, will give the corps members a feel of leadership and what it entails.
Attah further took the members through the cardinal programmes of NYSC, its objectives, reward system and punitive measures. He further warned them against defacing the NYSC uniform, smoking or cultism which according to him any member caught engaging in any of these activities will be dealt with accordingly.
