"It is crucial to pay much attention to students and pupils that seemingly do not understand much as others do"
This statement was made by Special Adviser to Governor, state of Osun on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Dr kareem Olajoku, while corps members under the umbrella of the SDGs met with him on a review of their proposed projects for the service year.
Some of the proposed projects according to the CDS president, Rashidat Ahuoiza, are Quality education, Clean water and sanitation, Free medical check ups for community dwellers in partner with medical CDS group, Poverty alleviation, Gender equality, among others.
Speaking on the project which is in accordance with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Dr Olajoku stated that some of the proposed projects require financial support while some do not.
He stated that his major focus was on students and pupils that do not have a grasp of what they are being taught in school, just as he suggested that Spelling bees be organised to help such students and pupils.
Under clean water, sanitation, good health and well being, the Special Adviser suggested that the group should try to settle about two or three people's hospital bills.
Still on the proposed projects, Dr Olajoku advised the group on necessary steps to take in carrying out the project, while he emphasized on the importance of carrying out a survey.
Some school challenge is so critical, under clean water and sanitation, where the school don't have a single toilet facilities and the chalk board to write.and this is the area im working on as personal project to support this children. And being SDGs president is quite challenging in some areas. But I have come a long way with the project hopefully to be completed next month. And wish this be should acknowledge.
