Outgoing Batch A 2017 corps members have been charged to look beyond white collar jobs and seek alternative means of income, in order to weather economic and financial storms they may face.

This charge was given during the Job Awareness and Creation lecture held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, as part of activities geared towards the passing out ceremony of the corps members, scheduled for 5th July, this year.

While delivering his address, Retired Group Captain and elite businessman, Mr Segun Fanu,  urged the corps members to invest in other sectors of the economy to avoid being dependent on a singular stream of income.

According to Mr Fanu, it was imperative for the corps members to become investors and not depend on white collar jobs that may not be readily available, adding that there was a need for the corps members to be employers of labour.

Similarly, other speakers at the event took turns to call on the corps members to look beyond their immediate circumstances, strive to be better citizens and ambassadors of the scheme and country at large.

Highlights of the event included presentation of gifts to outstanding corps members as well as orientation on the forthcoming passing out ceremony.
