DRILLS INSTILLS TOLERANCE, PERSEVERANCE AND ENDURANCE - OLUWATUYI

The head of Man ‘O’ Drill, Mr Adebayo Oluwatuyi, welcomed the 2021 Batch C Stream 1 Corps Members to the Man ‘O’ War drills and enlightened them that it's a tool for tolerance, perseverance and endurance. 

The drills which had corps members from platoons 9  and 10, held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State on Wednesday.

He gave a quick history of the Man ‘O’ War, how it was originally called the Trinity and Leadership Training Center and established in the year 1973 by General Yakubu Gowon and some other military personnel.

He stated that the Organization is in charge of training the Military as well as Corps Members.

Further more, he said that the Man ‘O’ War drill teaches Body balancing, Survival Skill and Leadership. 

Introducing the various gadgets such as the spider net, gorilla walk, six-feet-wall, junior beam, hand transfer, Jacob ladder and the Balancing rod to the Corps members, he explained what each gadget stands for. 

Every gadget instructor present took turns in demonstrating how each Gadget should be used.

In conclusion, he advised that Corps Members should not force themselves on any of the Gadget If they feel uncomfortable but that they should rather have fun.
