THE FIGHT AGAINST MALARIA MUST CONTINUE -OBA OMISORE

 

The Oba of Olode town, Oba David Omisore has on Sunday said that the fight against malaria must continue at all cost irrespective of prevailing circumstances.


He made this statement when Osun state NYSC corps medical personnel in partnership with the Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital,  Ile Ife paid him a visit at his palace in line with the malaria awareness campaign they organized  within the town of Ife South Local Government, Osun State. 

According to Oba Omisore,  malaria is an illness that has caused so much damage to lives and families and as such,  there is an urgent need for it to be tackled. 


"It is important we fight seriously against this disease as it has caused  a lot of harm to humanity",  he added. 

Speaking  further,  he appreciated efforts of the team and encouraged them to continue to care for victims plagued by malaria particularly in rural areas of the country. 


Speaking  earlier,  the delegation  from OAUTHC and NYSC corps personnel appreciated  Oba Omisore for his warm reception and said that the major push behind the awareness campaign  is to play their part in the celebration of the World Malaria Day. 

According to the spokes person, it is everyone's responsibility to eradicate malaria from the Nigerian society and as such we must play our parts in adopting measures such as environmental sanitation and personal hygiene, that will put an end to the deadly disease. 


In celebrating the world Malaria day,  delegates from OAUTHC and NYSC corps personnel offered free malaria treatment including drugs and injections to all patients sick of malaria and got involved in loud dancing and drumming across Olade town.
