NCDC SENSITIZES CORPS MEMBERS AS NYSC INAUGURATE COVID-19 TASK FORCE
A member of IPC and representative of Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on camp, Mr Ayoola Ademola has charged the 2021 Batch A Stream 1 corps members to ensure that they always take COVID-19 prevention measures seriously to ensure their safety.
He stated this on Tuesday, while addressing the corps members during the COVID-19 sensitization at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
According to Mr Ayoola, COVID-19 can still be transmitted to people even after they sanitize themselves. This is because the chain of transmission is not broken and as such we must carefully ensure all surfaces including our hand sanitizer containers are properly disinfected.
The distribution of COVID-19 vaccines as explained by the NCDC will be distributed in four categories beginning with the front line workers in group one and young agile youths in the last category.
In similar fashion, the NYSC Osun State has inaugurated the COVID- 19 Task Force to implement and enforce compliance to COVID-19 protocols.
Speaking at the inauguration, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, MR Ayodele Adegoke, urged corps members to accord members of the vanguard same respect they accord an officer of the law, saying that failure to abide by the rules will attract severe consequences.
Again, he enlightened all members of the COVID-19 Task Force on their roles both in camp and after camp which entails ensuring that the people around them adhere strictly to all COVID-19 protocols.
Finally, he appreciated all volunteering corps members and admonished them to continue to dedicate themselves to selfless service as this will help to bring about societal development.
The Committee is made up of principal camp officials, representatives of collaborating agencies, and corps members.
