IT IS YOUR DUTY TO OBEY THE NYSC LAWS - MR ADEGOKE INSTRUCTS CORPS MEMBERS

 

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has admonished the 2021 Batch A stream 1 corps members on the NYSC Act and Bye Laws which according to him is meant to give guidance to the conduct of corps members during the service year. 


The admonition took place at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Monday.


Adegoke stated that the NYSC was created on May 22nd, 1973 with the purpose of reconstructing, rehabilitating and rebuilding the nation after the ills of the Nigerian Civil War and to enforce discipline in Nigerian youths. He explained the Nysc Act which he said are divided into 23 sections. 

He enlightened the corps members on the core values or NYSC, its objectives and the qualifications or criteria for mobilization for the one year mandatory service.


Furthermore, he emphasized that the Nysc Bye Laws are laws that guide corps members on the operations of NYSC, he spoke majorly on the code of conduct spelt out in the bye laws and the punishments for defaulters. 


He admonished corps members to ensure to meet their Local Government Inspector and also report first to their place of primary assignment immediately after their orientation course, failure to do this attracts sanction from the scheme such as forfeiture of allowance and extension of service.

He also informed corps members that they are entitled to 21 days terminal leave at the end of their service and other leaves during the service year with the approval of the State Coordinator.   


Finally, he urged all corps members to give their best to ensuring that their communities become better than the way they met it.
