FIRE DOES NOT RESPECT ANYONE"- FED. FIRE SERVICE SENSITIZES CORPS MEMBERS

The Federal Fire Service, Osun State Command, has Sensitized the 2020 Batch B Stream 2 corps members on the need to be cautious with fire because fire does not respect anyone.

The Sensitization took place on Tuesday at the Leke Abiodun Pavilion of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.

 The representative of the Fire Service,  DSF Olajide Ademola emphasized on the need for corps members to build their courage and boldness, stressing that fire outbreak requires boldness and courage to quench it. 

 Furthermore, he said that negligence and carelessness leads to fire outbreaks which has killed and destroyed lives and properties, hence the need to learn to trust our instinct and avoid neglecting suspicious fire smell.

"When you perceive smell of a burning electric or electrical appliances in your home, do not neglect but trace the source of the smell and fix immediately", he added. 

Meanwhile, ASF Ayodele Oluwatobi who also spoke during the Sensitization, highlighted the various elements of fire, which includes; oxygen, fuel, and heat, stressing that we only have control over heat, therefore we should endeavor to be careful on how we deal with the elements of fire. 

Subsequently, he stated that fire can be a good slave but also a bad master.

"When you utilize fire to cook and carry out other activities it becomes a good slave.When you carelessly handle fire it can hurt you as a bad master" he concluded. 

Finally, the corps members were taken through the practical  usage of fire extinguisher and  other fire fighting equipments.
