RAPE: A LONG UNFORGETTABLE MEMORY
So many evil activities have been going on in our society that has brought pain, sorrow, blame, and shame. Activities like stealing, murder, fighting, rapping and gender violence, etc. All these have made the society a risky place for the weak. If we don’t do something quickly the society will be lost of good morals, so we have to do our best to make our environment safe from all this violence, this leads us to the topic of discussion RAPE.
Rape is
a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or
other forms of sexual penetration carried
out against a person without that person's consent. The act may be carried out by physical force, coercion, abuse of authority, or against a person who is incapable of giving valid consent such as, one who is unconscious, incapacitated, has an intellectual disability or is below the legal age of consent. The term rape is sometimes used
interchangeably with the term sexual assault.
Types of rape
Rape can
be categorized in different ways: for example, by reference to the situation in
which it occurs, by the identity or characteristics of the victim, and by the
identity or characteristics of the perpetrator. These categories are referred
to as types of rape.
Date rape,
Gang rape, Spousal rape, Rape of children, Prison rape, Serial rape, Payback
rape, War rape, Rape by deception, Corrective rape, Custodial rape, exchange
rape, punitive rape, theft rape, ceremonial rape and status rape, etc.
EFFECT OF RAPE
The WHO
report describes the consequences of sexual abuse: which are, Gynecological
disorders, Reproductive disorders, Sexual disorders, Infertility, Pelvic
inflammatory disease, Pregnancy complications, Miscarriage, Sexual dysfunction,
Acquiring sexually transmitted, infections, including HIV/AIDS, Mortality from
injuries, Increased risk of suicide, Depression, Chronic pain, Psychosomatic
disorders, Unsafe abortion, Unwanted pregnancy.
Prevention: As sexual
violence affects all parts of society, the response to sexual violence is
comprehensive. The responses can be categorized as: individual approaches,
health care responses, community-based efforts, and actions to prevent other
forms of sexual violence. Sexual assault may be prevented by secondary school,
college, and workplace education programs. At least one program for fraternity
men produced "sustained behavioral change." With regard to campus
sexual assault.
Rape is an assault that leaves lasting memories in the mind of the victims, the victims
sometimes lose interest in love and see the opposite sex as a bad person which
they will never have anything to do with it something leaves the victims in
constant fear and shock whenever they hear the word sex. Rape victims have an
unforgettable memories of the event that live with them all their life.
