CORPS MEMBERS PRODUCE JINGLE, ENGAGE IN MASS PRODUCTION OF COVID-19 SUPPORT MATERIALS IN OSUN STATE.
As part of the efforts to curb the spread of the Corona virus pandemic, corps members in the State of Osun on Thursday engaged in mass production of COVID-19 support materials.
The Production which was carried out by corps members as part of their SAED was supervised by the State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke; the Assistant Director Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), Mrs Femi-Ajayi Olufunmilayo; the Head of Accounts, Mr Idris Thunder; and other officials took place at the NYSC State Secretariat.
In an Interview with the Editorial Crew, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke, the State Coordinator praised the effort of the NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim for his initiative towards the fight against COVID-19.
He stated that the production of the support materials which include; Disinfectant Hand Wash, Antiseptic Hand Sanitizers and Nose Masks was the initiative of the NYSC Director General as a way of making corps members in the state and nation at large give back to the society and contribute to the eradication of the pandemic.
"The production of the Covid-19 support materials by the secretariat could not be carried out earlier due to the initial lock down of the State which was a total one. That is why we decided to leverage on the two days break given by the State Government before the second phase of the total lock down begins, to contribute our own quota to the fight against the pandemic.
"The materials will be presented to the government alongside the 20 cartons of Golden Penny Jollof Noodles donated by corps member Kolawole Omolara, with code number OS/19C/3586, serving with the Federal Government College, Ikirun in Ifelodun local government area of the State, as part of her contribution towards catering for the vulnerable and less privileged during the lock down" he added.
Prior to the production of the support materials, corps members in the state also produced a jingle which they believed would reach a wider audience thereby sensitising the populace on the need to focus on the positive aspect of the lock down rather than the negative aspect and also on the need to focus their attention on personal development during the lock down.
