NYSC TEAM STORMED IPETU-ILE COMMUNITY; ADMINISTER FREE MEDIC CARE TO INHABITANTS
Following the need to foster good health and well-being of citizens in the state and nation at large, the NYSC in collaboration with her corps medical personnel and paramedics on Monday took the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) train to Ibekun Community in Obokun Local Government Area in the State of Osun. The HIRD train which recently visited the state governor's town Egbeda Community in Boripe LGA moved to Obokun in a bid to render medical attention and care for the overall betterment of the citizenry.
The program which took place at the chief's palace, had in attendance the Oba's representative High Chief Ogundare M. D; NYSC State Coordinator's representative, Chief Tunde Fadairo; Vice Chairman of the local government, Mr Ogunwuyi Isaac; the Community's Primary Healthcare Secretary, Mrs Olaniyi Adeola; NYSC officials, Corps Members; among others.
The State's Coordinator's Mr Ayodele Adegoke, represented by the Assistant Director HRM, Mr Tunde Fadairo, while giving his address appreciated the diverse contributions by the community towards seeing to the success of the programme. Meanwhile, he revealed the essence of the programme as he further stressed that health care services must be accessed by all, as such the NYSC has been seeing to it's accessibility with reference to rural areas.
Also speaking at the event, the Oba appreciated the efforts of the NYSC team for their efforts in seeing to the good health of people in the community while urging the scheme to continue with the good works.
Furthermore, the beneficiaries were duly enlightened on the need to be health conscious with possible ways of preventing diseases like lasser fever, amongst others. Due counselling and drugs were thereafter administered accordingly.
In an interview session with our correspondent, one of the beneficiary expressed gratitude towards the team as she further pledged to comply to the neccessary health tips they have been intimated with for a better and disease-free life.
